Mountain of the Lord
by Ann Robinson-Worley
Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Mid′ian; and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. And the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush; and he looked, and lo, the bush was burning, yet it was not consumed.
And Moses said, “I will turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.” When the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here am I.” Then he said, “Do not come near; put off your shoes from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.” And he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.. Exodus 3:1-6I
If you notice Moses was traveling from the wilderness to the mountain of God. Many of you feel like your in the wilderness right now but I have good news for you sometimes you have to go through the wilderness to get to the mountain! When you get to the place where you need to be the Lord will manifest in ways unusual! He appeared to Moses as a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush to get his attention. Is not my word like fire, says the Lord, and like a hammer which breaks the rock in pieces? Jer 23:29
God knows what will spark our interest. He knew Moses was going to be curious as to why that bush did not burn. When the Lord gets your attention He then can speak to you in ways that may seem strange. When HE draws you near to HIM the first thing HE will require is a change in your heart that will require an ACTION on your part. In Moses case he could not draw near until he took off his shoes from his feet.
This was an act of worship and veneration towards the sacred mountain which was consecrated to the Lord. You cannot expect to draw near to the Lord unless you humble yourself with a heart of reverence. If you disrespect that which God has proclaimed as holy then how can you expect to draw near to the Lord? There are many who go to church today and they profess themselves to be Christians and yet they disrespect their Pastors by talking about them behind their backs and saying all manner of evil against them. God has called them into ministry and declared them HOLY.
If you cannot reverence and respect who God has placed as your spiritual elder whom you can see then how can you expect to honor and serve a God that you cannot see? The Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son, that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him. Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears my word and believes him who sent me, has eternal life. John 5:22-24
There are some of you who need to bridle your tongue and be more careful about what you say about those whom the Lord has placed in leadership over you. God will step into your life and He will not allow you to continue disrespecting who HE has called and anointed. He allowed no one to oppress them; he rebuked kings on their account, saying, “Touch not my anointed ones,do my prophets no harm!” Psalm 105:14-16
Your Pastor deserves an attitude or gesture of deep respect from you and if you cannot give it then you need to check your heart for unforgiveness and re-examine your ways quickly because if you don't you have just opened the door for the enemy of your soul to come into your household and cause pain and destruction.
Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching; for the scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox when it is treading out the grain,” and, “The laborer deserves his wages.”
1 Tim 5:17-18
I'm pleading with you dear ones REPENT,REPENT, REPENT now before its too late!
Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe. Hebrews 12:28
What is acceptable worship? Worship with an attitude of reverence to God and submission to one another in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy; for I am the Lord your God. Leviticus 20:7-8
Be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. But fornication and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is fitting among saints. Let there be no filthiness, nor silly talk, nor levity, which are not fitting; but instead let there be thanksgiving. Be sure of this, that no fornicator or impure man, or one who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for it is because of these things that the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
Therefore do not associate with them, for once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is a shame even to speak of the things that they do in secret; but when anything is exposed by the light it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light. Ephesians 5:1-13
Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good; love one another with brotherly affection; outdo one another in showing honor. Never flag in zeal, be aglow with the Spirit, serve the Lord. Romans 12:9-11
